The forest is an ever-changing ecosystem that is filled with trees and other vegetation, animals, insects, and additional wildlife. Proper forest management will improve forest quality, allowing the vegetation and wildlife to not only survive, but thrive. In addition, it provides the landowner the potential for long-term, re-occurring income, as well as recreation improvements for hunting and other activities.

Wooley Lumber works with you, the landowner, to develop a comprehensive forest management plan. We focus on your vision for the future of the forest both, short-term and long-term. It is our goal to provide you and your family with a long-term source of income generated by your land, while being responsible at the same time. Keep in mind that a timber harvest is not a one and done project. Proper forest management will include small timber harvests that occur on a regular basis.

We will help to identify dying, damaged and diseased trees, and trees that have reached peak maturity and mark them for harvest. Topics like watershed quality, wildlife habitat, and future harvests are all taken into account; this will improve the overall health of the forest. By removing over-mature trees, openings in the forest canopy are created, allowing sunlight to reach the forest floor--sunlight that new seedlings will use to thrive and prosper.
